For almost a decade, the Canon EOS Rebel T2i was my camera of choice. It traveled around the country with me and was used at multiple conferences, award shows, burlesque shows, weddings, nature hikes, protests and everything in between. It’s been a great camera, but it was starting to show it’s age and honestly, it was time for an upgrade…
After a lot of research, I finally settled on the Canon EOS 77D. It’s not the latest and greatest, but it’s a huge upgrade in tech (45-point AF system, increased ISO range, vari-angle touchscreen, etc…) for a very reasonable price and it will be in my kit for many, many years to come.
I also purchased the Canon 50mm STM lens and I can’t recommend this lens enough — the narrow depth of field and crisp focus is simply amazing (examples below). Honestly, it feels like cheating and I haven’t even flipped it around for macro shots yet…
